How do I get to the boat?
Although away-from-it-all,
Green Turtle is easily reached via Treasure Cay International Airport (TCB airport code) and Marsh Harbour International
Airport (MHH airport code). Only an hour by plane from Ft Lauderdale and Miami. From TCB you are just a five minute
taxi ride ($4 per person) and a 20 minute ferry crossing of the Sea of Abaco ($15 per person) from the Green Turtle Club Marina
where the boat will be docked. MHH is a 25 minute taxi ride ($80 for 2 persons) from the Ferry Dock.
What time can we board?
Boarding time is 2 pm. but can be adjusted
depending on your arrival time
What is our itinerary?
For each
7 day period, the Charter includes the first and last night in a Marina. Extra Marina stops can be arranged if guests
wish and all associated charges (marina fees, shore power, etc.,) will be passed on to guests accordingly. For guests
wishing to enjoy the benefits of night-time air-conditioning, staying at a Marina is a necessity.
Do we actually sail?
Yes, as often as the wind blows in the right direction. The best time
for sailing is from October to April. During the period from May to September there is less wind. We are always delighted
if our guests wish to participate in handling the boat under sail and we will be pleased to instruct if you are interested.
Or you can just lay back and relax in the sun!
What are the meals like?
We can serve three meals a day, as well as snacks and fresh fruits, but trips are quoted on 7 breakfast 4 lunch and
3 dinners. If you prefer to eat more meals on the boat we can provide a quote for that. Fresh fish or lobster
is also served, in season. Most meals served will be a combination of local and international cuisine and each party will
be asked to complete Sea Devil’s “Preference Form” so that we can tailor the meals on board to the tastes
of your group. A selection of beverages is always on hand, from soft drinks and a wide selection of liquors. For
you meals out the crew will be happy to let you know the best places to eat. See food and drink for sample menu
and beer, wine, and specialty drinks.
Can I fish?
Yes, -
all fishing gear is provided free of charge.
How much spending money do I
need?
Spending money for an evening ashore (drinks, souvenirs) and crew gratuity. The currency in the Bahamas
is the Bahamian dollar, which is par with the US dollar. They are used inter-changeably. If you have US dollars, there is
no need to change currency.
What is the recommended gratuity?
The live-aboard business is a service industry - few other recreational activities rely so heavily upon the professionals
in charge for your enjoyment and safety. Besides being at the mercy of Mother Nature, the quality of your experience is based
on the people who provide it. The crew are multi-talented and each does several jobs on board. They cook meals, wash dishes,
clean heads and cabins, perform engineering duties, and navigate the seas. We strongly believe that gratuities should be voluntary
and based upon the quality of the service the crew provides. If you are disappointed with the service, you should inform the
Captain of your feelings and leave no more gratuity than you feel is right, the accepted norm for the live-aboard business
being 10%-20%. The gratuity can be given to the Captain at the end of the week. But don't wait to tell them if something
is wrong right away, so they can fix it.
Can I snorkel?
Yes,
anytime the boat is anchored. Mask, fins, and snorkel are all provided, free of charge.
Will
I see sharks?
Most of our guests will see sharks. Typically, we see Caribbean Reef Sharks and Nurse Sharks.
Some sites are frequented by greater numbers of sharks while others are less populated by sharks.
Do you have a DVD Player?
Yes, we have a 22" flat screen with DVD player,
stereo system and CD player. We also have Direct-TV for any rainy nights
Do
you have any local hotel packages?
These can be arranged on request.
Do
I have to start my vacation in Green Turtle?

flow for the trip. We also will charter in the Exumas but there is an additional $500.00 for repositioning.
